The midwife rostered on when Bowie was born had no idea what she was in for when she clocked on that night. A rollercoaster of events that lead to the birth of my son was only made easier by her presence. She was an integral part of how Bowie got into my arms safely.

 

Fast forward nearly two years and this same wonderful midwife selflessly picks up a double shift on her day off so that she can be there for the birth of my second. She made the birth suite a peaceful space, she kept me calm and laughing throughout, she cheered me on at go time and she helped me deliver my daughter. She then provided the best quality post natal care to me and Coco (not to mention lifting one very heavy numb leg). I can’t quite thank her enough for what she has done for our little family, but I know I will be telling my kids about the midwife who helped bring them into the world. I feel so lucky that our paths crossed and that people like her exist. Thank you with all of my heart.
